First Friday Leadership Talks: Substance Use Disorder - How Leaders Can Help Create a Path to Recovery

Presented by: Dr. David Douglas
This training will provide information about substance use disorders from a clinical standpoint, ways
to guide someone to finding help, and how to use non-stigmatizing language when discussing this topic.
David Douglas, EdD, has a strong passion for educating people in the arena of substance use disorders.
He has researched this topic during his master’s and doctoral processes, has worked as a counselor in the field,
and is in the midst of his own long-term recovery. With his education, and his professional and lived experience,
Dr. Douglas brings extensive knowledge to this topic. His most recent work in this field was helping launch the
Kittitas County Recovery Community Organization (KCRCO) in downtown Ellensburg.
