CWU Mourns the Loss of Heidi Henschel Pellett

Heidi Henschel Pellett, CWU interim dean for the College of Education and Professional Studies, passed away on Friday, February 25, at 11:45 a.m. She had been battling a rare and very aggressive form of cancer for the last eight months.
Her husband, Tracy, said that, "She was surrounded by her family holding her hand, kissing her, and loving her to the very minute she left us. We are beyond devastated, as she was the heart of our family." He also said that the messages many of you were able to send to her before she passed away were uplifting and greatly appreciated.
Heidi felt particularly close to Central Washington University, having taught and helped to lead the institution for 15 years. She said one of her greatest professional and personal joys was serving the SAMS department. as chair and then the College as the interim dean. She was proud and excited of the work to renovate Nicholson Pavilion and Purser Hall, and was looking forward to seeing the renewed facility. She so valued the relationships she developed and genuinely loved the faculty, staff and students she worked with over the years.
