The Central Washington University Symphonic Winds is the department’s newest ensemble. The group seeks to broaden performance and teaching skills through the programming of exemplary literature. The highest quality traditional, mixed with contemporary literature make up the foundation of musical repertoire performed by the group.
Membership in the Symphonic Winds is by audition only and auditions are done each quarter. The Symphonic Winds is open to any university student, although the majority of the players in the 55-member ensemble are selected from the most talented musicians in the department of music.
