Preparatory Program Directors

Monica Freshley, a conductor, teacher, and cellist, is looking forward to being part of the Preparatory Strings Program family this year!  While pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance at Gonzaga University, she performed with the Gonzaga University Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Ensemble, University Choir, and Chamber Choir, and conducted both the Choir and Brass Ensemble.
This is Miss Freshley’s second year as a CWU Conducting Graduate Student.  Studying with Dr Nikolas Caoile, she has conducted the CWU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.  Miss Freshley has nine books of Cello Certification through the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and enjoys working with students of all ages.  Her favorite parts of the world are the Puget Sound and Florence, Italy, where she purchased her beautiful cello.  She loves to cook, travel, and go salsa dancing.
