In October, CWU students participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Inland Empire Competition at Washington State University in Pullman. Students came from Central Washington University, Washington State University, Whitman University, Whitworth University, Gonzaga University, Yakima Valley Community College, University of Idaho and private studios. Of the 140 students competing, 47 were from CWU.
CWU placed first in seven of nine categories. Out of 28 total singers in the finals, 16 of those students were from Central.
