Course Evaluations

Assessing the Assessment

In 2009 acting Provost Quirk appointed a task force to develop new course evaluation forms for CWU. In June 2011 the “SEOI Task Force” submitted their final report. The task force recommended that CWU administer Student Evaluations of Instruction (SEOIs) online.

CWU first administered SEOIs online to the entire university during the Spring 2012 quarter.

The legacy paper SEOI results back to 2007 are stored in a database and departments have access to their reports.

The annual reports in this section compare course evaluation results for:

  • "Form W" courses taught 100% online
  • "Form A" lecture courses taught using Interactive Video/Distributed Education
  • "Form A" lecture courses

These annual reports are summative assessments used to help assess and track the quality of instruction for online and interactive video/distributed education courses compared to traditional lectures.
