Qué es el Círculo de Matemáticas en Español de Central?

Los estudiantes en grados 6-8 de la comunidad de Kittitas y Ellensburg están invitado a disfrutar unas tardes de juegos y actividades divertidos con relación a matemáticas. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de crear arte, explorar problemas matemáticos y concertarse con estudiantes que atienden Central Washington University y quien igual que ellos hablan español en casa. Los estudiantes se divertirán sin saber que están usando matemáticas.

Únete a nosotros los lunes por la noche para el programa Kittitas Valley Spanish Math Circle:

• Otoño de 2020: 5 de octubre, 12 de octubre, 19 de octubre y 26 de octubre
• Invierno de 2021:  25 de enero, 1 de febrero, 8 de febrero, (feriado: no se reunirá el 15), 22 de febrero, 1 de marzo
• Primavera 2021: 12 de abril, 19 de abril, 26 de abril, 3 de mayo, 10 de mayo
• KVMC Math Festival: 11 de mayo

Las sesiones del círculo de matemáticas serán cada de 4:00 a 5:00 de la tarde en el edificio  SAMUELSON en la escuela de Central Washington University

Política de cancelación para el clima: la política será que Math Circle se cancelará si las escuelas locales tienen un comienzo tardío ese día, cancelan las actividades después de la escuela o si hay una advertencia del clima publicada para la región.

What is the Central Math Circle?

Students in grades 6-8 of the Kittitas and Ellensburg community are invited to enjoy some evenings of fun games and activities related to math. Students will have the opportunity to create art, explore mathematical problems and work with mentors who attend Central Washington University and who, like them, speak Spanish at home. Students will have fun without knowing they are using math.

Join us on Monday nights for the Kittitas Valley Spanish Math Circle program:

• Fall 2020: Oct 5, Oct 12, Oct 19, and Oct 26
• Winter 2021: Jan 25, Feb 1, Feb 8, (holiday - no meet on 15), Feb 22, Mar 1
• Spring 2021: April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10
• KVMC Math Festival: May 11

Math circle sessions will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the SAMUELSON building at Central Washington University.

Click here for a Google Map to the building. Note that you can park in the Central parking lot FREE after 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. If you need parking for the disabled you will have to use the closest parking lot, at the back of the building.

Cancellation policy for Weather: The policy will be that Math Circle will be canceled if the local schools have a late start that day, cancel after-school activities, or if there is a published weather warning for the region.

The Kittitas Valley Mathematics Circle is sponsored by the College of Sciences at Central Washington University and the Mathematics Department at Central Washington University. This project was partially supported by the CESME Faculty Program at the Central University of Washington, Ellensburg, WA, the National Association of Mathematics Circles MC-MAP, and the MAA TENSOR-SUMMA grant.
