Center for Leadership and Community Engagement

Introducing: CWU Women’s Leadership Institute

The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement is happy to announce the first annual CWU Women’s Leadership Institute, piloting Fall 2017 and lasting throughout the 2017 - 2018 academic year.

The mission of the Women’s Leadership Institute is to:

  • Unite women from across the Central Washington University campus
  • Facilitate and inspire personal and professional growth
  • Engage leadership development on issues that affect women in their field of expertise

Within a small group dynamic, students will be able to meet, share, build relations with and receive mentorship from prominent women on campus and in the larger Ellensburg community.

The CWU Women’s Leadership Institute will utilize small group sessions and book studies on leadership development, as well as attend seminars with a variety of prominent women keynote speakers addressing a variety of topics.

The Women’s Leadership Institute is looking for sophomore or junior students who are dedicated to:

  • Improving their leadership skills
  • Women’s empowerment

Upon completing the 2017 - 2018 Women’s Leadership Institute, students will have the opportunity to showcase and demonstrate their knowledge of what women’s leadership means through a spring quarter capstone project and presentation at The Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression (SOURCE).

This is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, refine knowledge of individual rights and further empower a generation of inspired woman leaders.

Applications for the Women's Leadership Institute can be picked up in SURC 256. The deadline has been extended to September 15th.
