Day of Action • May 12

Learn and engage with equity-based student organizations, community organizations, and local activists through workshops, roundtable discussion, letter writing campaigns, sign-making and a march to Downtown Ellensburg. This Day of Action will take place in conjunction with the Museum of Culture & Environment’s Upcoming Exhibition: “Day of Action: Making Real Change in Ellensburg” (Open April 28-June 11)

    Bring your signs, gather for a group photo and take action during this march to Downtown Ellensburg. The march will end at Unity Park/Rotary Pavilion (4th Ave. and Pearl St.)

    Pecha Kucha: What Does Action Look Like?

    PechaKucha (Japanese for “chit chat”) is a storytelling platform, used by millions around the globe.

    Each speaker is allowed 20 slides and 20 seconds of commentary per slide to create powerful, visually-compelling stories that move audiences in less than 7 minutes.

  • Unity March

    Bring your signs, gather for a group photo and showcase your passion during this march to Downtown Ellensburg. The march will begin at the west entrance of CWU's Black Hall, and will end at Unity Park/Rotary Pavilion (4th Ave. and Pearl St.)

  • Downtown Ellensburg Block Party

    Engage in shared activism with downtown partners who focus on social justice and community wellness initiatives! Enjoy free food, music, games, prizes and much more as we bridge our communities together.

    The Ellensburg Block Party is spearheaded by CWU Business: Leadership and Management students, and seeks to connect the CWU and Ellensburg communities for shared activism and connection. This event is free and open to all.

    This event is a partnership between Provost Fellow Dr. Teresa Divine, the Diversity and Equity Center (DEC), the Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement (SLICE) office, the Museum of Culture and Environment (MEC), and students in the MGT 478 class at CWU.
