ABOUT TORTA THURSDAY: COME FOR THE FOOD STAY FOR THE CHISME!

CWU LatinX meets one Thursday each month at alternating locally owned businesses in hopes to connect students with faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. We hope these networking opportunities will allow LatinX students to create relationships with mentors that will allow them to successfully navigate CWU and ultimately transition from educated students into employed  professionals.

TORTA THURSDAY GUEST SPEAKER: DR. GERALDINE O'MAHONY

Dr. Geraldine O' Mahony (pictured left) will be speaking at this event, and she has an incredible education background. She is the first member of her family to finish high school and go to college, first going to Cambridge University to study Theology and Religious Studies, then Edinburgh University for a Masters in Divinity, McGill University for a Masters in Islamic Studies, and finally the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a Masters in Political Science and a Ph.D. in Development Studies with a focus on African politics and religion.
