WorldCat Connections: February/March 2-Week Intensive English Courses

Session 1:  February 7-18, 2022 (Japan/Korea)
Session 2: February 21-March 4, 2022 (Japan/Korea)

Language instruction and skills development with UESL program instructors.

Cost: $240 per course, plus $3.50 registration processing fee.
Registration Deadline: January 14, 2022

Improve English language knowledge and skills with fun and interesting classes taught by UESL Program instructors. All courses will meet for two weeks live online via Zoom, Monday-Friday, and will include approximately 20 hours of instruction. Each class has a maximum enrollment of 16.

Zoom links and passcodes will be sent by e-mail one week before the start of the class.

Students will receive evaluations and a certificate on completion of their course(s).

Four courses (Oral Communication, Reading Skills and Vocabulary, American Culture and Context, and English Through Songs) are offered for two different levels – A: high-beginner to intermediate and B: high-intermediate to advanced. 

Students may self-select their level. If you are not sure about your level, you may arrange a level check. This will consist of a Zoom interview and a writing sample to help us determine which classes/levels would be best for you. Write to to request a level check.

Courses Offered:

  • Reading Skills and Vocabulary Improve reading skills and increase vocabulary knowledge through high-interest articles on a variety of topics.
  • Oral Communication   Develop speaking and listening skills with level-appropriate lectures, presentations, and small group discussion activities.
  • English Through Songs Learn English vocabulary and grammar through song lyrics and readings about popular music and musicians.
  • American Culture and Context: study interesting aspects of American culture while developing English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Choose the course or courses that you would like to take. You will make your final selection when you register with Continuing Education.
