Assessing the Assessment

CWU compares ourselves to peer institutions annually using:

  1. College Results Online is a “…Web tool designed to provide policymakers, counselors, parents, students, and others with information about college graduation rates for nearly any four-year college or university in the country.”
    College Results Online lets CWU benchmark ourselves to the 15, 25, or 50 most similar colleges.
  2. CWU checks the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard annually:
    The College Scorecard lets CWU compare our average annual costs, graduation rates, and the average salary of CWU alums ten years after entering college to U.S. national medians.
  3. CWU also uses the PayScale.com Annual College ROI Report:
    The PayScale report allows CWU to compare our marginal Return on Investment and marginal Net Present Value to other institutions included in their study.
