With Apple's new ResearchKit, medical researchers can create apps for their studies that will help recruit participants (one of the most difficult steps in any study). The research apps are easy to download, and could be a significant boon to medical research.
But they also come with ethical liabilities, such as ensuring participants are eligible for studies, teaching them about the risks, and securing their data.
