High School Partnerships Mission and Vision

 

Mission Statement:


The mission of the Central Washington University High School Partnerships Department is to provide high school students with rigorous and rewarding low cost dual credit opportunities that will allow students to graduate from high school and earn college credit at the same time, overcome barriers to participating in higher education, and get an early start on their long term academic and career goals.

 


Vision Statement:


The vision of the High School Partnerships Department is to be a statewide leader in providing affordable, rigorous, and inclusive dual credit opportunities to every high school student in Washington State.

 

Running Start Program


Mission Statement:

The mission of the Central Washington University Running Start Program is to provide inclusive
and quality outreach, mentoring, advising, and ongoing support to all Running Start students.

Vision Statement:

The vision of the Running Start program is to reduce barriers and encourage participation by
building and maintaining positive relationships with high schools, students, and their families in
the communities we serve. We will do this by:

• Providing accurate and inclusive outreach and information sessions
• Ensuring all students receive individualized, student-centered and responsive advising
• Offering ongoing support that encourages self-advocacy and long term academic and
career goal setting for all Running Start students


College in the High School Program


Mission Statement:


The mission of the CWU CIHS program is to provide high school students access to CWU
courses in their HS at a low cost.


Vision Statement:


The vision of the CWU College in the High School Program is to provide support to high school
students, families, teachers, and schools that participate in this program. To do this, we will:


• Educate the decision makers in the high schools about opportunities available to their
students and teachers
• Deliver ongoing CWU faculty led training in content areas
• Provide accurate outreach information to all interested parties
• Assist students with planning long term academic and career goals
• Ensure a timely and precise registration
