Get acquainted with services and policies offered at Central and complete important forms and training.

Now is the time to select your benefit options and fill out/return any necessary paperwork.
Completed enrollment forms, all located in the Benefits packet you received at your New Employee Welcome session, must be returned to the Human Resources Department in Mitchell Hall by deadlines specified below.

Please take the time to review the University’s health benefit options presented to you at your New Employee Welcome session and make your elections carefully. For more information, visit the following web page:

Complete health benefit enrollment and, if needed, verify eligible dependents
Complete the forms you received at your New Employee Welcome session to elect your health benefits or waive coverage. For more information, visit the following web page:
All health benefit enrollment forms must be returned to the Human Resources Department in Mitchell Hall within 31 days of hire. If you fail to return all needed forms by the deadline, you will be defaulted into specific plans as outlined in the “Required forms and timelines” section of the Health Care Authority’s website.
In addition, if you are enrolling dependents such as a spouse or child, you will need to include documentation to verify each dependent's relationship.
Please review the Washington State Health Care Authority’s Dependent Verification instructions for a list of acceptable documents.
Review your retirement options and complete enrollment
You learned about the University’s retirement plans at your recent New Employee Welcome session. Before making your retirement choices, you might also visit the Retirement Plans web page for links to comprehensive information for each retirement option.

All retirement benefit enrollment forms for classified staff must be returned to the Human Resources Department in Mitchell Hall within 90 days of hire.
All retirement benefit enrollment forms for exempt staff must be returned to the Human Resources Department in Mitchell Hall within 30 days of hire.
- Complete the Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure
The disclosure will be sent to your CWU Outlook e-mail account from Compliance@cwu.edu within 7 days of starting work.
Promptly answer the questions in the COI disclosure.
- Complete Required Training
Non-supervising employees access your required trainings on the Required Training for Staff web page.
Supervisors access your required trainings on the Required Training for Supervisors web page.

Ensuring you have the process skills and system skills to do your job is another important part of your success here at CWU. Take the time now to review the key policies and procedures that pertain to you in your position. Log into MyCWU > |Employee| tab > Policies & Procedures.

In addition to the key policies that pertain to your specific employee classification, you have a responsibility to familiarize yourself with other University policies and procedures as they relate to your employment. - 2-40-70 Conflict of Interest in Relationships:
This policy has to do with personal relationships between employees at Central Washington University. A conflict of interest (related to relationships) arises when “a reasonable possibility exists that a consensual relationship between an employee and a student or another employee may give, or perceive to give, one of them an unfair advantage or disadvantage.” Take the time now to educate yourself about the Conflict of Interest in Relationships policy.
