Join one of our HTE and/or WINE Majors

Choose between a Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management major where you specialize in either Hospitality, Tourism or Events. Or, choose the Wine Studies Major where you specialize in either Global Wine Studies or Wine Industry Management. 

 

Hospitality Management Specialization

Hospitality Management prepares students for entry-level supervisory and managerial positions within hotels, restaurants and the service industry. In addition, entrepreneurial skills are developed for those interested in establishing their own business. A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management will open doors to a wide variety of career options, including hotel manager, restaurant owner, guest services manager, resort operator, sales and marketing among other entrepreneurial opportunities.

Tourism Management Specialization

A Tourism Management degree prepares students for positions of hosting domestic and international travelers. They learn skills in management, marketing, sustainability, strategic planning and policy development. Tourism Management provides students with career opportunities such as managing and directing travel programs, managing DMOs, operating tourism facilities, overseeing cruise and airline operations, managing tour operations, marketing tourism services among other opportunities.

Event Management Specialization

Event Management students learn to coordinate and manage a variety of social and business events for in-person and virtual settings. Students learn to effectively design, plan, and produce events. Career options include festival organizer, meeting and convention planner, non-profit event coordinator, wedding and private event planner, trade show organizer, and more.

Global Wine Studies

This is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with a broad understanding of the wine industry. Students completing the Global Wine Studies specialization focus on international wine production, wine tourism and have specialized training in the critical analysis of wines.

Wine Industry Management Specialization

The Wine Industry Management specialization further prepares students to participate in wine business professions. The curriculum focuses on wine distribution, wine law and advanced digital marketing. Students engage in internships as well as field trips and hands-on assignments.
