Group X Class Descriptions

 

TRX®: A full-body suspension workout that utilizes a person's own body weight instead of machines or dumbbells. A great workout for ALL fitness levels that offers a total-body workout, that focuses on technique, strength, flexibility and balance.

 

Cycle: Do you want to train like an athlete, ride like a racer, and find your inner competitor? Jump on a bike and ride to music that will improve your cardiorespiratory and muscular endurance. This low impact/high intensity workout will leave you drenched in sweat, yet inspired to come back for more!

 

Cycle Strength: Looking to effectively train every part of your body? Ride the bike and work to get ‘ripped’ in one workout – intervals of cycling and off the bike exercises will help you get the most ‘bang for your buck’.

 

Butts & Guts: Train and tighten all regions of the lower body and core with this toning class. Workout will focus on the abs, glutes, legs, and lower back using light weights and body resistance.

 

Pound®: Using lightly weighted drumsticks, POUND® transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Designed for all fitness levels and ages.

 

Zumba®: Ditch the boring workout and join the party – exercise has never been so much fun! This fun, easy-to-follow cardio dance class combines high energy and motivating music to make you feel like you are partying on the dance floor. Isn't it time to “dance your worries away”?

 

Yoga: A total mind-body class that combines muscle sculpting, core-firming, and flexibility work.

 

Restorative Gentle Yoga: Find balance and release stress in this gentle yoga class. Whether you're looking for a mental break from studying, to lengthen sore muscles after a hard work-out, or to heal and prevent injury and illness, this class is designed to leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after a long day. Incorporating props, gentle lighting, soft music, breathing exercises, and meditation to connect your mind and your body. This class moves at a slightly slower pace than a flow class, holding poses anywhere from 2-5 minutes at a time. You'll learn a lot about your body mechanics, muscles and tissues, injury prevention, and proper stretching techniques in a subtle practice that's as intense or as relaxing as you want it to be. Suitable for all body types and ages.

 

Yin Yoga: Yin Yoga is a slow paced style of yoga where asana’s are held for extended periods of time, typically three to five minutes per pose. Yin yoga applies moderate stress to the connective tissues, the tendons, fascia, and ligaments with the aim of increasing circulation to the joints and improving flexibility.

 

Power Yoga: POWER yoga offers classes in the Power Vinyasa Yoga style, linking breath and movement. It is a dynamic, flowing practice which cultivates strength, flexibility, balance, focus and endurance. It tones and sculpts the entire body allowing for rapid results.

 

Barre: Our barre-based class uses a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like Yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.

 

P90X®: P90X®LIVE is a full-body, strength-training format, featuring four unique blocks of work: Cardio X, Lower Strength, Upper Strength and X Core. The DVD program once designed for at-home use has been revamped for the live studio setting. It incorporates a new “protocol based” approach to full body training. P90X LIVE is suitable for all fitness levels and is fully modifiable.

 

Insanity: INSANITY is a revolutionary cardio-based total body conditioning program based on the principles of MAX Interval Training.
