CWU President James Gaudino and his wife, Katie, give back to Wildcats for #GiveCentral

Central Washington University will celebrate its first-ever, 24-hour giving campaign, called #GiveCentral, on April 27 and 28. The goal of the effort is to celebrate and share Wildcat pride across the country by supporting student scholarships and other programs that benefit Central students.

CWU President James Gaudino and his wife Katie, joined by a group of prominent alumni and friends of the university, have agreed to support the #GiveCentral campaign by collectively giving $125,000 in scholarship and program support.

The group has issued a challenge to encourage 500 additional donors to match their gifts by donating to the #GiveCentral campaign.

As part of that challenge, the Gaudinos have given a gift of $15,000 that will be added to existing endowed scholarships.

Since becoming president of Central Washington University on January 1, 2009, Gaudino has embraced the institution’s primary mission of being a welcoming college that prepares its students for enlightened, responsible, and productive careers. During his tenure, Central has experienced a record infusion of state construction funding, completed a comprehensive overhaul and update of information systems, initiated a modernization of budget and management systems, and sought to create a safe and inclusive campus environment.

“I would like to thank Jim and Katie for their tremendous support and investment in the lives of our students,” said Scott Wade, vice president for university advancement. “We invite other members of the Wildcat family to join them in donating any amount of money to the scholarship or program of their choice.  Every gift counts and allows CWU to continue to offer the best educational experience in the West.”
