The #RyegrassCouleeFire continues to burn in the Vantage area, causing fire and smoke to abstruct visability. I-90 remains closed at Exit 115 and east of Vantage Bridge, with no estimated time for reopening. Drivers are encouraged to stay clear of area and use alternate routes, including US 97 over Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and US 12 over White Pass.

Due to the growing brushfire, I-90 is closed east of Ellensburg to the Vantage Bridge. There is no estimated time of re-opening.  The fire is currenly approx. six miles east of Ellensburg. Source: Seattle Times

UPDATE: (4:40 a.m.) The #RyegrassCouleeFire has continued to spred over night. A Level 3 evacuation (LEAVE NOW) advisory is in effect for residents within one mile south of 1-90 on Huntzinger Rd.

Wanapum State Park is under a Level 2 (GET SET) advisior. Campers are to shelter in place since Huntzinger Rd is currently impassible.

(2 a.m.) A Level 3 evacuation notice (LEAVE NOW) has been issued for the town of Vantage due to the #RyegrassCouleeFire. The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office is working with the Red Cross to establish shelter. The shelter is located at George Community Hall at 403 W. Montmorency Blvd in George, WA.

1-90 is also closed to traffic from exit 115 eastbound as well as the Vantage bridge westbound. Source: Kittitas County Sheriff

The Yakima Canyon fire that started last night on State Route 821 near Red's Fly Shop is said to be "in really good shape", according to Jim Duck, operations coordinator at Central Washington Interagency Communications Center. There is no report of road closures or evacuations at this time.  Source:  Daily Record
