Dawn Harry has 23 years of experience in elementary teaching with a focus on reading. Mrs. Harry also managed a clinic for children with dyslexia. Her specialties include overcoming reading difficulties, project-based learning, multi-age classrooms, and classroom management.

She completed her M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Washington.

Amy Meyers is the Elementary and Field Experiences Coordinator for CWU's Des Moines and Pierce County centers. Her work consists of assisting potential students with teacher certification requirements as they progress through the Elementary Education program and placing students who wish to complete practicum and student teaching experiences in the Seattle/Tacoma area.

Amy has an M.Ed. in Higher Education and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from CWU. She also completed her A.A. in Business from Pierce College.

Amanda St. John has 14 years of experience teaching preschool-12th grade and seven years of experience teaching in special education. She earned her Masters in Reading from Grand Canyon University and a Masters in Special Education from Western Governors University. As well, Mrs. St. John earned her B.A. in K-8 Elementary Education and 4th-12th Biology from Heritage University.

Annie Douglas' experience ranges from teaching elementary grades and adult English as a Second Language to working as a K-12 instructional coach. She thoroughly enjoys supervising student teachers in the Wenatchee Valley and teaching elementary education classes at the CWU Wenatchee Center. She loves nothing more than hanging out with her husband and two children. In her spare time, you can find her exercising, cooking, or laughing with friends.

Mrs. Douglas received her M.A.Ed. in Instructional Design from Western Governor's University and her B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from CWU.

Mrs. Douglas says, "Sharing my passion for children is my favorite part of the job - and this is my dream job!".

Bob Anacker serves as both a senior lecturer and field supervisor at CWU. He has 29 total years of experience as a secondary educator with 15 years teaching social studies and 14 years teaching biology, physics, and chemistry. Over 13 years, he also served as a high school principal at three Washington high schools. Mr. Anacker is the previous president of the Washington Association of Secondary School Principals (WASS). His hobbies include football and golf.

Mr Anacker completed his M.A. in Environmental Science from Northeastern Illinois University and his Educational Administration Certification from CWU. He also earned a B.A. in Pre-Law from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Mr. Anacker says, "Supervising student teachers is the best job I have ever had. I enjoy working with teacher candidates and using my 52+ years in education to assist them in any way possible".

Bonnie Beaudoin has 40 years of experience as a K-12 teacher. She completed her M.A. at Pacific Lutheran University.

Cil Dore has over 35 years of experience teaching 1st-6th grade and eight years of experience teaching K-8th Art Education. She has been a field supervisor for CWU and Eastern Washington University for 18 years.

Mrs. Dore earned her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Creative Arts from Lesley University. She completed her bachelors degree at CWU.

Connie earned her M.A. in Organizational Leadership and graduate certificate in Human Resources at Chapman University. She also earned her K-12 principal credentials at the University of Puget Sound and her BA in K-12 Elementary and Special Education at Pacific Lutheran University.

Connie has 20 years of experience as a K-9 and special education teacher in Tacoma Public Schools. As well, she served in the same district as a principal for 9 years. She was the west side Regional Director of Teacher Education for 1.5 years at Heritage University and also taugh undergraudate and MIT literacy/reading courses. She has been a field supervisor for 3 years through CWU and Pacific Lutheran University.

She moved to Chelan in 2016 and is "living her best life". Connie also helped as a teacher liaison for Lake Chelan School District.

Connie has been married to her high school sweetheart for 47 years and has two daughters (both COUGS!). She has two granddaughters and likes boating, sewing and crafting, sun and beach related activities.

Dennis Adams has 26 years of teaching experience working in K-12 and higher education. He has also served in administrative roles for 20 years. This experience includes his role as as a middle school principal for 14 years. He also served as a diistrict athletic director for three years and an assistant high school principal and alternative school principal for three years.

Mr. Adams holds a Masters in Teaching (MAT) from Grand Canyon University and an M.Ed. in Primary and Secondary Educational Administration from the University of Wyoming. He also completed a B.S. in Physical Education and Spanish from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Adams retired in 2017 and now supervises future teachers at CWU and Western Governor's University. He enjoys spending time with his five of 47 years, his five daughters, and his 24 grandchildren.

Frank Foster has taught K-8th grade physical education as well as 6th-8th grade health, social studies, and leadership. He has experience as a high school assistant principal.

Mr. Foster earned his M.Ed. from Seattle Pacific University.

For the first 10 years of her 30 plus year career in education, Gail taught preschool and Head Start. When she moved into elementary schools, she first taught first through third grades. One of her favorite programs to teach was Project Home Run, where she integrated special needs students into the classroom on a full-time basis through partnering and cooperative learning strategies. This connection with special education persists today as she enjoys supervising special education students whenever there is an opportunity.

Gail received her BA in Early Childhood Education and K-8 Elementary Education from CWU. Her love of reading propelled her to focus her M.A. in Reading and Language Arts which she obtained from Seattle Pacific University. She worked as a district instructional trainer and taught courses for Harcourt Brace Publishing Company introducing their new reading programs.

She started supervising student teachers through St. Martin's University and started working with CWU when she moved to King County five years ago. She says, "I love working with student teachers, seeing their enthusiasm, observing their growth, putting their coursework into practice, and knowing they are shaping their students' lives and futures. It all gives me so much hope and pride in our educational system!".

Jan Tietz has 31 years of experience as a principal. She completed her M.Ed. with administrative credentials from Western Washington University.

Jane Smoke completed her Masters in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction, and her bachelors of Education, from Seattle University. She also earned her Administrative Certificate at University of Washington. Ms. Smoke has extensive experience teaching high school math and middle school block classes. She has 17 years of experience teaching in the K-12 educational system and 10 years teaching at the college level. As well, she served as a secondary level building administrator for 15 years.

Ms. Smoke has supervised student teachers for 15 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and grandchildren. She loves to sew, knit, and bake.

Jeanie Schneider has 38 years of experience serving as an educator and administrator in California, Oregon, and Washington. She started as a bilingual-Spanish teacher, English Language Learner and elementary educator. She went on to become an an assistant principal and principal.

Mrs. Schneider completed her M.A. with a focus on reading at Portland State University and her administrative credentials at University of Washington, Tacoma. She also earned her B.A. at California State University, Long Beach.

Mrs. Schneider says, "Helping educators and new teachers is a calling and a joy". Living overseas, traveling, and learning languages is her passion.

Karen Gormley taught Family and Consumer Studies at Kentwood High School for 13 years. She was also the dance team coach, senior class advisor, and a Natural Helper Teacher.

Mrs. Gormley left teaching in 2000 to spend more time with her children and started an interior design business. She started off in construction design, where she designed interiors of Signature Custom Homes. In 2006, she joined a firm called A Matter of Style. During this time, she continued to teach "Decorate like a Designer" classes and taught church youth group. When her first of three girls went off to college she was looking for a change and became a field supervisor for CWU.

Mrs. Gormley holds an M.Ed. in Counseling from Seattle University and earned both her B.S. and B.A. from Washington State University. She double majored in Psychology and Child and Family Studies with a minor in Sociology and majored in Home Economics Education with focus on interior design, nutrition, finance, and child development. As well, she has a teaching certificate in 8th-12th grade teaching and a school counseling certificate.

She says, "I love watching the growth of my student teachers and strive to help them become the best teacher they can be. I believe in helping them create their own style and confidence is essential in their communication excellence". During her time off, she loves to ski, boat, hike, kayak and paddleboard. She also loves arts and crafts and making things beautiful one room at a time.

Kim Jones is a tenured field faculty supervisor and professor in CWU's Curriculum, Supervision, and Educational Leadership Department. She teaches education courses that include Education Law and specializes in field supervision.

Dr. Jones obtained her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a cognate in Counseling and Psychology at Washington State University. She earned her administrative credentials and a masters degree in Literacy at CWU while teaching. Dr. Jones earned her undergraduate degree at CWU as well.

Dr. Jones likes to say, "To enable children to be successful, we have to do more than educate children's brains. We have to feed their heart". While teaching, she also coached cross-country, track, and gymnastics. Dr. Jones' publications include topics such as at-risk youth strategies, student voice, safety in schools, effective helpers, collecting video evidence of teaching successfully, and rural schools. She has 4 children and enjoys running, hiking, mountain biking, and most outdoor activities.

Ms. Jacobson's area of educational focus is Special Education. She has been working with people with exceptionalities since she was 14 years old. She spent 20 years in elementary special education before she began teaching at the college level. She currently is in her fourth year of teaching at CWU. She loves supervising teachers for many reasons. Having only been away from the classroom for a few years, she misses that energy and excitement of teaching in K-12. Being able to vicariously be part of that by supervising is a joy for her.

Ms. Jacobson earned her Masters in Curriculum Development from Northwest University and her Elementary and Special Education Certification from City College in Seattle. She also completed a B.S. in Specialized Recreation from CWU.

In her spare time, she loves to ride her bike, go for walks, and sit with a cat or two on her lap while reading. Ms. Jacobson says, "It is inspiring and invigoriating to witness the growth of candidates over the course of their student teaching experience".

Dr. Molly Ross is Associate Professor Emeritus in the College of Education and Professional Studies at CWU and worked as full time tenured faculty from 2008-2020. In 2019, Dr. Ross won the Top Field Supervisor award from the School of Education. Since retirement, she continues part time as a field supervisor. Previously, she directed the two year MIT Program at City University's Tacoma site. For sixteen years, she taught and then was an administrator at two Native American reservation schools directed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Her primary research has focused on increasing the number of minority teachers to reflect student populations. Further, she has done extensive work preparing teaching materials for fetal alcohol-affected children.

Rose Romfo is a Senior Lecturer and Field Supervisor at CWU. She has taught international students as well as Education and English courses at CWU for 14 years. Prior to teaching at Central, she taught at a private high school and alternative high school. She also has experience tutoring students from pre-K up to adult English language learners.

Rose earned a B.A. in Psychology, a B.A. in English Teaching, and an M.A. in English Literature, all from CWU.

Shileah Heistand has 13 years of experience in visual arts education. She completed her M.Ed. in Technology Integration and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Washington State University.
