Short Bio

Kristine Miller is a passionate and devoted hospitality professional and educator. She possesses over fourteen years of diverse academic experience gained teaching on the east coast, instructing students from partner universities in Peru, Ecuador, and Columbia through the East Carolina University Disney Learning Program, and developing the curriculum for a women’s college in Rwanda. 

Her research and teaching interests include servicescape, hospitality financial management, fine dining service and etiquette, wine appreciation, guest service management, consumer psychology/behavior, entrepreneurship and strategic management. 

Kristine’s hospitality industry experience includes an advanced internship management position at Walt Disney World’s AAA Five Diamond restaurant Victoria and Albert’s, a role as a member of the sommelier team at the AAA Five Diamond, Mobile Five Star, Michelin Three Star Inn at Little Washington, General Manager of North Campus Dining at Central Washington University, industry consultant and guest speaker, and member of various opening teams to successfully launch a variety of businesses. 

Kristine holds a Master of Business Administration with a Hospitality Management graduate certificate from East Carolina University. She is also a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators, has Sommelier certification through the Master Course of Sommeliers, and is a Certified Hospitality Educator through AHLEI.  

Kristine loves to travel. She lived in Europe for seven years and has been to South America, Africa, and Asia. An ardent outdoor enthusiast, Kristine enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and kayaking.  When not in the classroom or outdoors she can be found at the theater, in a museum, at a soccer match (go Sounders!) or wine tasting.  Kristine is excited to be back at CWU and looks forward to working with the outstanding faculty, staff, and students in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Events program.
