Some areas of study within the Family Consumer Sciences Education major are parenting, nutrition and wellness, interpersonStudents talk to their professoral relationships, human development, family, textiles and apparels, housing, interiors and furnishings, hospitality, tourism and recreation, food science, dietetics, family and community services, early childhood, and education and services.

Students interested in a major in Family Consumer Sciences Education are required to complete a professional education program, the Family and Consumer Sciences major, student teach, obtain an valid CPR card, complete 2,000 hours of paid work experience in the previous six years, and provide documentation of occupational safety.


Family and Consumer Sciences Career, and Technical Education Teaching Bachelor of Science:  Admission Prerequisites and Process
• Successfully complete FCSG 205, ENG 101, & ENG 102 or equivalents
• Admission GPA of at least 2.30
• Be accepted and complete the teacher preparation program
• Earn a grade of C in major requirements
