Hi! My name is Jared Smith (he/him) and I am a fourth year Communications student at Central Washington University. This is my first year as Peer Advisor at CWU and I look forward to supporting fellow students in their academic journey. As a Peer Advisor, I strive to create meaningful relationships that bring joy and peace of mind to each person I interact with. When I am not in the advising office, you can find me playing basketball at the rec or hanging out with friends. Stop in and say hi!

I am a Business Administration major with a specialty in Leadership and Management and I have the intentions of also minoring in Psychology with a projected graduation in 2023. A little background about my family is my mom migrated from Germany and met my dad while he was deployed. I have 3 sisters and 5 dogs back in my home town, but for now I have 3 roommates and currently live in Ellensburg.

I'm a transfer student from Tacoma Community College and am currently attending CWU in Ellensburg to earn my BA degree in Public Relations with a minor in Digital Marketing. I grew up moving back and forth between several places, so I have a lot of experience feeling left out with my peers. Now, I love working in places where I can help students and people find their place and make their mark on their college and community. I'm currently the Vice President for Lambda Pi Eta and the Yellow Tulip Project. I also work with the Transfer Center and am going to be working as the Online Editor for the Observer in the fall.
I hope to see you around campus, GO CATS!
