Accommodated Testing

Testing Accommodation Process

To ensure equal access for timed assessments (tests, quizzes, or exams) some students may need accommodations such as extra time, a reduced-distraction environment, a test reader and/or scribe, a raised workspace, or access to adaptive software. Ensuring that testing accommodations are implemented properly requires collaboration between DS, faculty, and often Testing Services:

Disability Services determines appropriate testing accommodations

Faculty determine how to implement the necessary adjustments (on their own or with proctoring through Testing Services - which requires completion of a brief online testing agreement). If Instructors intend to proctor their own exams, this can be indicated on the agreement.
Testing Services provides proctoring services for accommodated exams that are scheduled in advance with completed testing agreements in place.

If accommodated exams will be administered by Testing Services, see the following steps:

1. Faculty fills out Testing Agreement
2. Student schedules exam with Testing Services
3. Faculty receives email with link to upload exam

These steps must be completed in order.  Students are unable to schedule exams until the Testing Agreement has been completed, and faculty will not receive an upload link until the student schedules the exam.
