Central Washington University has launched a new early transfer program, designed in collaboration with CWU’s seven partner colleges to make transferring even easier for students.

The Early Transfer Admissions Plus (ETA+) program gives access to University resources much earlier than usual to students looking to transfer their Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) credits from these Washington community colleges: Edmonds College, Highline College, Pierce College, Yakima Valley College, Wenatchee Valley College, Big Bend Community College, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

As a part of the ETA+ program, students will have their $60 application fee waived and gain conditional admission to CWU. This admission grants students access to a variety of resources before they fully transfer, including academic advising, financial aid workshops, and career counseling.

Lauren Hibbs, Executive Director of Extended Learning and Outreach at CWU, says the ETA+ program is part of CWU’s commitment to an efficient and welcoming transfer process.

“This program is incredibly deliberate, having been developed after national best practices on student preparation, transition, and retention,” Hibbs said. “CWU seeks to be the state leader in student-friendly transfer.”

ETA+ students can choose to attend CWU’s main campus in Ellensburg, or one of the university centers and instructional sites located in Des Moines, Lynnwood, Moses Lake, Pierce County, Wenatchee, Yakima, and at Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma. Additionally, students may transfer to CWU Online Learning, which provides flexibility and ease of access to those unable to commute to a physical campus.

Those interested in applying must currently be enrolled at one of CWU’s partner colleges in a DTA associate degree program and have 0-60 credits at the time of ETA+ application. Students may remain in the ETA+ program for up to two years before completing their transfer to CWU.

More information, as well as the ETA+ application, can be found online at Early Transfer Admissions Plus.
