Master's and Education Specialist (EDS) Degree Information

  1. Apply to Graduate
    Applying to graduate with the School of Graduate Studies and Research is the first step in your degree completion process. Please see instructions about how to apply.

  2. Register for Commencement
    Commencement registration will open on March 1st, 2020 and remain open through May 10th, 2020. Please check back in spring 2020 for more information!

  3. Order your Cap and Gown
    Official CWU regalia is required for participation in Commencement. You must be registered for Commencement in order to place your regalia order with the Wildcat Shop.

  4. Attend Grad Kickoff
    Grad Kickoff, sponsored by the Wildcat Shop, is your one-stop-shop for all things commencement. You can pick up your cap and gown (“if ordered by April 15th, 2020”), purchase a class ring, have your grad photo taken, and much more!

    Grad Kickoff 2020 dates are:

    Ellensburg Campus (SURC Ballroom):
    Tuesday, April 14th: 10:00am – 5:00pm
    Wednesday, April 15th: 10:00am – 5:00pm

    Des Moines Campus:
    Wednesday, April 22nd: 1:00 – 7:00pm

    Lynwood Campus:
    Thursday, April 23rd: 1:00 – 7:00pm

Graduation Application – Important Dates and Deadlines

CWU Master's/Education Specialist (EdS) students graduating from any of the westside University Centers or from an online program have the option to choose between attending the Graduate Hooding and Commencement Ceremony in Ellensburg (graduate [Master's and EdS] students only) or attending the CWU Kent Commencement Ceremony at ShoWare Center (which includes graduate and undergraduate students). More information about each of these ceremonies may be found in the left-hand side bar.

Kent Commencement Ceremony (Graduates of all west-side University Centers)
