Responsible for leading the compliance and educational efforts with regards to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Section 504 and Title IX as well as other laws and rules related to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, gender and interpersonal violence, sexual assault and related policy violations at the university.
Thomas joined the Office of Civil Rights Compliance at CWU in October 2020. Thomas currently serves a the Director of the Office of Civil Rights Compliance, as well as the Title IX and ADA Coordinator. Prior to joining CWU, Thomas worked in higher education for about 20 years in a variety of areas including Title IX, Student Conduct, Disability Services and Residence Life at several public universities.

Investigator assigned to Title IX, sexual misconduct, and discrimination complaint cases involving students, faculty, and staff at CWU.
Laura joined the Office of Civil Rights Compliance team at CWU in June 2021 as a Civil Rights Investigator and previously worked at CWU as the Assistant Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities. Laura has worked in higher education for the last 9 years at various institutional types as well as within various student affairs functional areas, including student conduct and Title IX, orientation and new student programs, as well as campus activities.
