The child development certificate provides students with knowledge and practical skills to work with children from birth through emerging adulthood. Students in the program will learn about theories of child development; cutting-edge research about how children develop in multiple domains, with a focus on how development occurs in the context of family, community, and culture; and skills for practical application of child development.
The certificate is designed for matriculated and non-matriculated students who want to enhance their expertise in child development to improve their ability to work with children or parents in their chosen profession.
