Research Interests:

To contribute to the field of chemistry and STEM education, our group is interested in studying, developing, evaluating, and disseminating:

  • best-practices researched learning/teaching models and strategies that support students (a) defining problems, (b) designing solutions, and (c) optimizing designs.
  • curricular materials for student labs and instructor chemical demonstrations that actively, safely and sustainably support student-inquiry, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • curricular materials that either creates or implements existing laboratory measurement technology for valid, reliable, and reproducible student data acquisition for quantitative data analysis.
