Central Washington University Celebrates Second Annual Giving Day

Central Washington University’s second annual, 24-hour day of giving campaign, called #GiveCentral, will be held on April 26 and 27.

The campaign provides the opportunity to financially support many areas at CWU, including student scholarships, program support, and the recently launched Wildcat Commons project, which includes improvements to Tomlinson Stadium.

On the heels of last year’s successful campaign, several CWU donors have generously agreed to unlock $150,000 in additional gifts if 500 donors participate in this year’s #GiveCentral campaign. Alongside this unlock challenge, the first $250,000 given to the Wildcat Commons project will be matched dollar for dollar.

“We are so grateful for this tremendous support and investment in the lives of our students,” said Scott Wade, CWU vice president of University Advancement and executive director of the CWU Foundation. “These leadership gifts encourage other members of the Wildcat family to invest in the lives of our students and programs. Every gift counts and allows CWU to continue to offer the best educational experience in the West.”

Central Washington University President Jim Gaudino and his wife Katie have pledged an unlock gift of $100,000 in philanthropic support of #GiveCentral. The Gaudino’s unlock gift will support the first phase of the Wildcat Commons project. (Visit )

Jim Ockerman, a member of the CWU Foundation Board, and his wife Kelly, who are both CWU alumni, are supporting Central’s day of giving by committing a $50,000 unlock gift for aviation scholarships.

Jean Adams is the newly elected President of the CWU Wildcat Club and former member of the CWU Foundation Board of Directors. Her husband, Joe, is a current member of the CWU Foundation Board. Together, they have generously agreed to match the next $250,000 that is raised for the Wildcat Commons project dollar for dollar.

In celebration of this year’s #GiveCentral campaign, all Central Washington University alumni, donors, and friends are encouraged to show their Wildcat Pride by making a gift at and encouraging their fellow Wildcats to do the same for the 24 hour day of giving campaign on April 26 and 27 from noon to noon.
