For Faculty and Staff

Case Management staff are available to consult with CWU faculty, staff, and students during regular business hours. The best way to get in touch with us about a concern is to submit a Concern & Support Form below. We will follow up with you promptly and connect your student to appropriate resources, usually on the same business day. Please see our page on Crisis Resources for emergencies.

When completing a Concern & Support Report, please include:

· Your Name & phone number

· Student name & ID number of the student of concern (if known)

· Details about what you or others have observed

What Happens Next?

If you’ve already submitted a Concern & Support form to Case Management, here is what happens next:

1. We review the information you submitted.

2. We follow up with the reporting party (that’s you!). We may ask for additional information or just confirm that we have received your report. We likely will not follow up with you again following this step, however we will be completing the steps below.

3. We determine which office on campus is best suited to respond to the student’s needs and share the information, as appropriate.

4. The student will likely receive direct outreach from a Case Manager or another campus partner.

5. Depending on their unique circumstances and preferences, the student may choose to meet with a staff member, receive referral information via email, etc. Meetings with staff members are rarely mandated, except in situations involving a health and safety emergency.

The Office of Case Management is not a confidential reporting area but do adhere to FERPA. This allows us to exchange certain information with other CWU faculty/staff on an as needed basis. We protect students’ private information as much as possible. In order to share information with parties outside of the University, a Release of Information (ROI), is required.

Case Managers serve on each of the campus behavioral intervention teams. These teams review high-risk and high-concern cases and coordinate with other campus professionals to determine and enact appropriate interventions in support of students and our campus community.
