FCSE Master's Degree/FCS Endorsement Program

Central Washington University partners with Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (GPIDEA) to offer an online graduate program in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Courses for this program are taught completely online by faculty from Central Washington University, North Dakota State University, South Dakota State University, Texas Tech University, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. CWU students who enroll in this program will always sign up for classes through CWU but will have the benefit of learning from well-respected instructors across the nation. This is an online graduate degree program that results in a master's degree, teacher certifiation, and/or FCS endoresmeent.

Career and Technical Education Master's Degree

The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to concentrate at the master’s level in one or more of the subject areas related to career and technical education. The goal of the program is to prepare candidates for further graduate study, for public school or college teaching, for CTE administrator certification, as specialists in service agencies, or as professionals in, or consultants to business, industry, and government. Completion of this degree does not lead to teacher certification.

Business & Industry Route - Career and Technical Education Teacher Preparation

CWU offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching courses for current teachers and business and industry professionals. Central’s CTE Teacher Preparation program is uniquely designed for busy, working professionals. During the academic year, classes meet one Saturday a month and are offered in locations across the state. For those looking for a shorter and more intensive experience, some courses are also offered during the summer in locations throughout Washington. Course requirements can be satisfied in as little as five weeks for residency teachers, and one to two years for industry professionals.
