Join keynote speaker, Jasmin Washington, former ASCWU President, and other women panelists, for a day of inspiration, networking, and fun!



Jasmin's Bio:

Jasmin Washington is an author, advocate, and educator born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She migrated to Washington state after losing her home in Hurricane Katrina. Washington was one of the winners of PBS Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest in 2008. Jasmin had devoted her life to advocating for survivors of violence. After writing her book Surviving Guilty published last year Washington started an advocacy group focused on the decriminalization of domestic and sexual violence with an emphasis on decolonizing the oppressive structures that allow violence to bloom. Jasmin Washington is a recent graduate of Central Washington University where she says her activist truly started. Washington was the ASCWU President, Black Student Union President, and worked as a Peer Health Educator at the CWU Wellness Center. Due to her activism, Jasmin won several awards and acknowledgments from her university. Currently, Jasmin is obtaining her Masters from Tulane University where she conducts research on Intimate Partner Violence.
