Two forums held specifically for CWU classified and exempt staff wanting to better understand the university’s Responsibility Center Management (RCM) budgeting process have been scheduled. They will be held:

• Thursday, January 17, 2-3 p.m., Science II 103

• Friday, January 18, 9-10 a.m., Shaw-Smyser 115

Joey Bryant, CWU Exempt Employee Association chair, said the forums were developed, “In an effort to increase buy-in and improve feedback, we want to ensure that we provide all staff an opportunity to understand and ask questions about the university’s budget process and status.”

Those attending either forum will be able to participate in a live question-and-answer session with Patrick Stanton, controller, and David Pena-Alfaro, director of financial planning and analysis. In addition, questions or concerns may be submitted anonymously either before or during the forums through Microsoft Forms: link here

Lidia Anderson, chair of the Classified Staff Employee Council, added, “Allowing staff to ask questions with anonymity will enhance transparency of responses, and allow greater understanding on how RCM works. ”

Each forum will also be available to view via a live stream and will be recorded and made available to watch later on the Classified Staff and Exempt Employee Association websites.

The two employee advocacy groups are teaming up to present the forums to help staff grasp the ins-and-outs of RCM on the eve of university department budget presentations for the 2019-20 academic year.
For more information about the employee budget forums, please contact Lidia Anderson (x3046) or Joey Bryant (x1335).
