Black Panther and Afrofuturism Course

Notices Tue, 12/04/2018 ABS (Africana Black Studies) program is offering this course, but anyone can take it AND all pre-requisities have been waived. Join us! ABS 400: Afro-Futurism (4). ​This course focuses on Afrofuturist narratives, which infuse science fiction, futurity, technological innovation, and speculative fiction with cultures of the African diaspora. Through a selection of films, graphic novels, literary texts, and music videos, students will examine the intersection of Afrofuturist tactics and contemporary thematics of race, migration, black innovation, and discrimination.
