Campus Moves Adapts to Construction, Creates Convenience

In Febraury, 2017, CWU began a year-long series of moves as a result of record state construction funding. The moves, dubbed "Campus Moves," involves newly renovated Bouillon and Lind halls, with additional moves to and from Barge, Mitchell, and Hebeler.

When the dust settles, Campus Moves creates convenience and cuts confusion by consolidating student services to a single location in Bouillon: Registrar, Admissions, Connection Card, Financial Aid, the Cashier, and Testing.

Between each move, facilities staff quickly works their magic to clean and configure space for the next inhabitants.

Renovation of Bouillon and Lind halls will be substantially completed by May. CWU has requested funding to do additional renovations to those facilities in the next two-year budget period.

Academic departments that will be affected during Campus Moves include Communication, which will move to the first floor of Lind Hall, and Air Force and Army ROTC programs, which relocate to the second floor of Lind. Administrative offices to move include Enrollment Management, Registrar, Payroll, the Connection Card Office, Testing, Financial Aid, and the Cashier.

In the 2015-2017 state budget period, CWU received about $130 million to modernize, overhaul, and build facilities in Ellensburg. Cornerstone projects include Science II, which opened in fall 2016. The renovation of Samuelson Union Building will be complete next year and open as a modern facility for Computer Science, Information Technology and Administrative Management, and Mathematics.
