Staff Bio:

Miriam Bocchetti has been in the role of CAMP Director at CWU for over ten years. She originally came to CWU to obtain her MA in English Literature, having previously completed a BA in English Literature at the University of Washington. Since 2013, Ms. Bocchetti has also served as the Principal Investigator (PI) for both the CAMP program, as well as the High School Equivalency Program (HEP), a program designed to assist out of school migrant youth with attaining a GED. Miriam has recently completed her PhD coursework in Higher Education Leadership at Colorado State University and will be writing her dissertation in the next year. She is involved at the national level, serving as a member of the HEP/CAMP national conference planning committee for nine years, as well as a HEP/CAMP coach designated to assist new directors, and has held multiple positions on the HEP/CAMP Association Board; most recently in the role of secretary. When she is not working, she is traveling, playing trivia, or browsing the new book selection at the local library.

Veronica Zamora Dimas

Staff Bio:

Veronica Dimas has been with the CWU CAMP program for the past 15 years. In those years, she has held two important positions as the Program Coordinator and currently as CAMP Retention Counselor. Veronica recently received her Masters of Science (MS) in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. She and her family love to road trip and have been to 18 US states and many other states in Mexico. Other than traveling, Veronica likes to read non-fiction books, bake, and craft. Veronica also volunteers her time coaching young children in soccer.

Staff Bio:

Juan Maravilla has been the Outreach Specialist for the CAMP for the last three years. Juan attended CWU in the fall of 2008 as a first generation student and participated in the CAMP program during his first year. He earned his BA in Law & Justice and Sociology and went on to work for the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration prior to working with CAMP. Juan has a lot of firsthand experience and knowledge working with students from diverse backgrounds. He currently also serves as the point person for the Ready to Rise program. When Juan is not working, he is usually spending his time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, barbequing, or working on his cars in his garage.


Justina Aguilera

Staff Bio

Justina Aguilera was hired in May 2018 as the Program Coordinator for CAMP. She attended CWU in the fall of 2008 and was a participant of the CAMP program during her first year. Throughout her college career, she was also involved in the TRIO Program as a participant and mentor as well as with  conducting undergraduate research in the STEP program.  She earned her BA in Biology in 2013 from CWU and went on to work for the UW GEAR UP Program for 5 years as the Site Coordinator for the Granger School District prior to working for CAMP. In her free time she enjoys going for walks, watching movies, and getting lost in a good book.
