Student's Experience

I think that over the last three years I have been doing VITA has brought me real world experience and given me an idea of what tax preparation looks and feels like. There have been so many different stories and scenarios that have taught me so many different things that you don't learn by reading a textbook. Overall, I am thankful for this experience and happy to volunteer and give back to the community. – Courtney Brown

Being able to help people file their taxes has given me many great opportunities to learn more about the tax process and how each person’s taxes are never the same. Over the years of helping with VITA I am very grateful to every person that has come into the center because it has given me an opportunity to learn more about the tax field. – Christy Rosman

VITA gives students the rare opportunity to have real world experience that is not manufactured by a textbook or a professor. It is completing actual tax returns for actual taxpayers that are in need and making an actual difference. – Ryan Cahalan
