College of Business Engagement Team

Meet the Engagement Coordinator

The College of Business Engagement Coordinator wants to help our students gain experience outside the classroom, whether that is joining clubs, attending workshops, or even attending events we put together! Our Engagement Coordinator leads our ambassador team to achieve these goals.

Crystal Clausen (She/Her), Hometown - Ferndale, WA

Coming to CWU as an 18-year old first generation student, college was an entirely new experience for me. I had no idea what classes were going to be like or how I could get involved outside of the classroom. The only things I knew at the time were that I wanted to earn a degree in business and I wanted to join clubs that make a positive impact on students. I was involved in many organizations around campus during my time at CWU and earned my degree in Business Administration with minors in Event Management and Digital Marketing. As the Engagement Coordinator I am so excited to be able to give students the opportunity to explore their interests outside of the classroom with events, workshops, and clubs!

Meet the CB Student Ambassadors

The College of Business has several student employees to help connect with prospective and current students. They give you honest and transparent answers about campus life and academics. You can meet them at our events!

After receiving my Associate in Art (AA) from the running start program offered at my high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do for my bachelor's. I came to Central for orientation and knew right away that this was the college for me! At Central, I have been able to pursue my bachelor's in Business Administration specializing in Leadership & Management and Human Resources, along with my minors in IT Project Management and Event Management Planning. I also have been able to keep up my passion for volunteering. Hope to see you on campus soon!

I originally planned on coming to Central as a Freshmen but unfortunately COVID happened, so I went to a community college first. I knew Central was the school for me when I visited my friends here during high school and I instantly fell in love with the campus and all the students. I got my AA degree and transferred over here as a third year where I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing! Through my short time in the College of Business I have made amazing friends and I continue to make even more every week! If you see me, don’t be afraid to say hi!

When I was in high school, I had no idea where I wanted to go for my undergrad, so my mom pushed me to attend Central's Spring Preview Day. At this event, I knew instantly that I was meant to go to Central. Currently, I am a senior hoping to get my Bachelor's in Economics and Public Policy with a minor in Interdisciplinary Honors. I met my best friends through my College of Business classes, the Economics Association, and the Filipino American Student Association. When I was a first year I was really worried about making friends and now it feels like I have a second family thanks to Central. I look forward to meeting you!

Transferring to Central in 2021 was the best decision I could’ve made; the second-best decision was majoring in business. After completing my AA from another school, I decided to transfer a little closer to home.  During the short time I have attended Central, I have received opportunities that otherwise would be nonexistent if not for the people I have met in the business program. I have enjoyed getting my bachelor's in business administration with a specialization in supply chain management and leadership and management with a minor in Business Analytics while also being President of SCMA (Supply Chain Management Association), being a student ambassador, and taking classes in person again!  My time at CWU has helped me to grow into a more confident person, and I am excited about what the future holds for me after graduation. Hope to see you on campus!

Like many, I was unsure of exactly what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go in my senior year of high school. I went through the application process at Central and received early admission. After researching the programs here and seeing that we have a good Business program, I decided to accept admission and attend my first year at CWU in 2020! I am an independent student, earning my bachelor's degree in business administration specializing in Leadership and Management & Marketing Management, and I am minoring in both Entrepreneurship & Apparel Textiles and Merchandising. I’ve been able to grow and break out of my shell at Central, which I am so grateful for. I love meeting new people, don’t hesitate to reach out!
