Advising Forms

Incoming Art + Design Students!

Welcome to CWU! We are excited to call you a Wildcat and have some important information for you. We would be delighted to have you join our amazing department. We believe we have a lot to offer a wide variety of students through our BA and BFA degrees in the areas of Studio Art, Graphic Design and Art Education.

Advising and orientation sessions run through July. You should have received an email explaining how to register for an advising session with our amazing academic advisor Grace Pearsons. Please let us know if you need assistance. We are here to assist you in becoming a major, to help you get enrolled in the right classes this fall and answer any questions you might have about our program. It is highly recommended that all Art + Design majors begin taking art classes in their first quarter. Check out our 4-year plans for all our degrees in the links at the bottom of this page.

We have reserved several Art + Design classes for Art + Design majors only including a section of UNIV 101 for first year Art + Design majors. All first year Art + Design majors should be enrolled this Fall in ART 150 – Introduction to Drawing and ART 170 – 2D Design. There are sections of each class reserved just for you. We also have a special section of UNIV 101 for new majors & minors. We want all new majors to be registered in section 027. You must be a declared major to enroll in these classes.

Recommended Fall 2022 classes for new Art + Design students:

ART 150 - Introduction to Drawing – select either section 002 or 003

Monday & Wednesday – 1 – 3:30pm or Tuesday & Thursday – 1 – 3:30pm

ART 170 - Two-Dimensional Design – select either section 001 or 002

Monday & Wednesday – 1 – 3:30pm or Tuesday & Thursday – 1 – 3:30pm

UNIV 101.027 - Transition to CWU (for Art + Design majors/minors only)

Tuesday – 12 – 12:50pm

Work with your academic advisor Grace Pearsons to add two additional General Education classes.
