Exhibit on View: May 11—June 3, 2023
Reception and Awards Ceremony: May 11, 5 to 7 p.m. (Awards will be announced at 6 p.m.)

JURORS
Studio Art, Kayo Nakamura, Yakima Valley College
Graphic Design, Mackenzie Loete, Nordstrom Seattle

ELIGIBILITY
-Open to any CWU student who has attended studio art or graphic design classes since Spring 2021.
-Work must have been completed while enrolled at CWU.
-The Sarah Spurgeon Gallery reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the eligibility of submitted work and artists.

SUBMISSIONS
-Entries are FREE
-Each student may submit a maximum of 3 works.
-Sets (works of multiple units) are considered one submission only when labeled and priced as one piece.

**Deliver your work to the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery (Randall Hall, Room 141), and complete a hard copy entry form**

Monday, May 1           10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 2           10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday, May 3     10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

All submissions are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3

AWARDS
-Students who receive cash awards will have the money deposited directly into their student accounts. It may take three to four weeks for the funds to be deposited. 
-Students who have already received the maximum amount of financial aid for which they are eligible from the university may not be able to receive a cash award. Every effort will be made to adjust an award winning student’s aid limit so that they can receive their money.

ALL WORK MUST BE READY TO HANG OR DISPLAY
-Excessively large and/or heavy work will be accepted at the discretion of the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery.
-In the case of work with special installation needs or display materials, the artist may be asked to install their own work.

2-D WORK
-Wet paintings will not be accepted.
-Unframed charcoal or pastel drawings should be spray fixed.
-Framed works should include a wire or other secure hanging device.
-Unframed works must have a sufficiently firm backing material to hang securely on the wall.
-Approved hanging devices for unframed works include: clips, magnets, and L-nails. Please do not use pins, double-sided tape, or Velcro.

3-D WORK
-3-D work must be ready to display at time of submission.
-The gallery will provide pedestals of various sizes. Any additional display materials should be provided by the artist.
-3-D work that is intended to be hung on the wall must include a secure hanging device.

INSTALLATION WORK
Please contact the Gallery Manager for advice before submitting an installation piece. If it is deemed impractical to install a large or complex piece in the gallery for jurying, photo documentation will be accepted. All installation pieces must be installed and taken down by the artist.

VIDEO WORK
-Bring a flash drive with your video file to the gallery, or email a download link to the gallery manager prior to the due date.
-Preferred file types are .Mp4, .Avi, or .Mov.

Friday, May 12            10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 13       1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Pick-up Dates for Accepted Work:

Monday, June 5         10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 6         10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
