Visiting Public Artists Talk

Members of CWU’s Art Selection and Permanent Collection Committee, in collaboration with Science faculty, are in the process of selecting an artist to create new public art for the Science Building Phase II project. Two artists will be on campus this week for interviews and will talk about their work at a free, public presentation Wednesday afternoon.

Lynn Basa is an artist living in Chicago. In addition to having completed numerous public art commissions, she is a painter. She has taught in the Sculpture department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is the author of The Artist’s Guide to Public Art: How to Find and Win Commissions.

Benjamin Ball is part of the collaborative artist studio Ball Nogues Studio. Based in Los Angeles the studio is an integrated design and fabrication practice operating in a territory between architecture, art, and industrial design, led by Benjamin Ball and Gaston Nogues.
