Thanks in part to recent movies like "Coco", Dia de los Muertos is growing in popularity across American society. Celebrations of life honoring death are part of the cultural fabric of this particular region of WA state from Ellensburg to Wapato, sparking important conversations for individuals of all ages and cultures. While attending the Tieton celebration, Dr. Rentería-Valencia spoke with the Yakima Herald about how such celebrations act as a bridge between Mexican and American cultures.
