Greetings, Wildcats! Starting off this month’s message with a big congratulations to the CWU class of 2020. Welcome to the alumni family!
We are only days away from celebrating the accomplishments of this class with a virtual Commencement, available to watch beginning at 9:00 a.m. on June 13 at cwu.edu/commencement. The ceremony will include remarks from President Gaudino, Faculty Senate Chair Dr. Walter Szeliga, and Student Body President Jasmin Washington and announce all seniors’ names in an interactive display. For more information, or to ask a question, please visit the official CWU Commencement website.
All Wildcats who are graduating this year also have the opportunity to join the alumni association at a discounted rate! For only $25, graduates can get an annual membership and receive a license plate frame with an additional six months of membership for free. Lifetime memberships are half off and include your choice of a diploma frame or $50 Wildcat Shop gift card. Join today, or purchase a membership as a graduation gift by visiting our website.
As we look ahead to what next fall might look like, we are continuing to look for volunteers to make Central themed masks for students. Please contact the alumni office at 509-963-2160 to let us know if you can help us reach our goal of 10,000 masks, or visit cwu.edu/give to make a donation to help purchase masks by including ‘PPE’ in your gift notes.
We are pleased to announce that CWU has released the spring issue of Crimson & Black, a twice-a-year university alumni magazine that tells the stories of the Central’s students, staff, faculty, alumni, and supporters. The website, which spotlights both content from the magazine and bonus stories, videos, photos, and other content, is now updated with content from the new issue and can be found at cwucrimsonandblack.com.
Though this is our last newsletter until September, we will still be staying in touch with you via email about news and happenings throughout the summer, such as our upcoming alumni webinars. We hope you enjoy this summer and stay safe and healthy. Go Cats!
