It is an exciting time of year for Central Washington University! As summer comes to an end, we look forward to welcoming new and returning students to campus next week as a new academic year begins. This time of year is one of our favorites as campus begins buzzing with students, student-athletes begin competition, and alumni make plans to return to Ellensburg.
With the start of school comes many exciting events that we have been planning for you! Make your way back to campus for home football games this season where we have several new experiences than we have not had in the past. This year we are hosting pre-game tailgates before every home game where the CWU band and cheerleaders will stop by to bring the game-day energy and everyone is welcome to join!
After the tailgate, join us inside the stadium where CWU Alumni Association and Wildcat Athletic Association members can join us in the Alumni Plaza, located in the north end zone. Later in the season we will be offering special reserved box seating, so keep an eye on our social media pages for more information to come.
To see a full schedule of home football games, purchase game tickets, renew your membership for easier access to the plaza, or to learn about reserving an RV parking spot, please visit cwu.edu/alumni/upcoming-events.
It’s also time to mark your calendar for Homecoming on October 14-15! We are kicking things off on Friday night with Wellington’s Wildfire, then continuing the fun on Saturday morning for reunion activities and our all-members meeting. All of this will be leading up to the main event on Saturday evening, the tailgate and game. We can’t wait to see you back in Ellensburg for this fun-filled weekend and will be sending out more information soon!
We want to thank everybody who made our first-annual Alumni Argosy Cruise a success. We look forward to doing this every year, so don’t worry if you missed this year, you can join us next year! Our incredible CWU photographer captured the day and created an Argosy Cruise photo album to share with you all. Attendees got to learn more about our new regional hubs, which you can learn more about in our Wildcat Hub feature.
We are working to bring more events to your area, and we look forward to seeing you in your region or back on campus this year! Here’s to another great year of building our alumni network, go Cats!
