Our newsletter falls on a special day this month, and we would like to take a moment to salute those who have served, and continue to serve, to defend our freedom on this Veteran’s Day. This day reminds us of all of the brave alumni, friends, and family who have served our country, and we thank you for your selfless service and sacrifice.
As we look back to last month, we are still in awe of Homecoming weekend and how many Wildcats gathered back on campus. It was great to see so many familiar faces, and meet many new ones, who all came together to cheer the Wildcat football team on to victory! We hope you had a great time and hope to see you again this weekend.
This Saturday, November 13, is the last football game of the regular season and we hope you will join us in the Alumni Plaza. All current CWU Alumni Association members and those that are part of the Wildcat Athletic Association have exclusive access to the Plaza, which provides complimentary halftime dinner and an Athletics-sponsored cash bar for beer and wine. The Plaza will also continue to be open for any home NCAA Division II Championship games after the regular season, which are yet to be announced. Keep an eye out to see if we will be hosting and join us to cheer on the Wildcats! Join the CWU Alumni Association before the game for faster access to the plaza.
If you want to bring your RV to campus to tailgate, we still have passes available! Grab your friends and family and join us for football and tailgating, right in the heart of the action in the Nicholson Pavilion parking lot. RV season passes will also be valid during home championship games. Visit our RV parking website for pricing and more information.
As we look to grow our alumni engagement, we are also looking to grow our current team and are seeking qualified candidates to be our newest alumni relations coordinators, which will be embedded in each of the CWU colleges. These positions will work closely with the rest of the CWU Alumni Association team and their respective college to build alumni engagement within the academic departments. We will also be hiring an Associate Director of Alumni Programs to build the presence of our Wildcat Nation in regions throughout the state. All of these positions have the option to be based out of Ellensburg or one of our regional University Centers. These positions will be posted on careers.cwu.edu soon, and we encourage you or those you know who would be a good fit to apply.
It’s that time of year again when we are calling on the Wildcat family to nominate outstanding alumni for a 4 Under 40, Distinguished Alumni, or Legacy Award for the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Awards! Nominees are reviewed by a committee and those selected will be honored at a ceremony on the Ellensburg campus next spring.
We hope everybody has had a great start to November and we wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday at the end of the month. Go Cats!
