What a year 2020 has been. This year has shown us just how generous and resilient the Wildcat family is when unforeseen events occur, and we cannot extend our gratitude to each of you enough.
The kindness we have seen through sewing masks for students, volunteering to lead webinars and online events, and monetary donations to help support student success is something that makes us all extremely proud to call ourselves Wildcats.
We also want to thank each of you who took the time to nominate outstanding alumni for a 2021 Distinguished Alumni Award. The date for the ceremony has been set, and whether it is online or in person, we hope you will join us on Friday, April 16 as we celebrate the achievements of our outstanding Wildcats.
The next event that we have coming up is another webinar in our Alumni Webinar Series called DISCovering Who You Are As a Leader, which will focus on how your leadership style affects the way you communicate. This webinar will take place on January 13 and feature Innovations in Leadership President Michael Newman (‘81). Registration is coming soon, and we encourage you watch the other webinars in our series by visiting cwu.edu/alumni/webinars.
Since this is the season of giving, we hope you will consider the different ways you can support CWU students. With 2020 coming to an end, your gift before the end of the year will ensure Central students have the opportunity to continue their education and make meaningful contributions to their fields and communities. Make a difference today at cwu.edu/give.
Another great way to support students is to assist in purchasing their cap and gown and help make their dreams of walking in commencement come true, while also providing them with a membership to the CWU Alumni Association. Ted and Janice King have also graciously made a donation and will match any donations up to $1,000. If you know a student that is graduating this spring that could use assistance, encourage them to apply today.
Thank you all for your continued support of CWU, Central students, and the entire Wildcat family, and we wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe holiday season. We hope to see you in 2021 and as always, go Cats!
