Thank you for your interest in having CWU Air Force ROTC present the colors at your upcoming event or assembly. Our cadets take great pride in presenting the colors at events for our university, local schools and organizations. The cadets practice regularly to ensure a reverent and professional presentation of our nation's flag.
Please input request Honor Guard as early as possible. The primary mission of CWU Air Force ROTC is to train officers for the U.S. Air and Space Forces while they earn their degrees at Central Washington University. All of our Honor Guard Cadets are students first. In an effort to prioritize our cadets academic and ROTC training and help the cadets manage their time, we are not able to accommodate all Honor Guard requests. During national holidays, including Veterans Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day, we receive a high volume of Honor Guard requests. We prioritize our requests in the following order:
On-campus Central Washington University requests
Local school requests (Schools within Kittitas County)
City of Ellensburg and Kittitas County requests
Non-profit and volunteer organization request (Rotary, Kiwanis, Central Wash. Mountain Rescue, etc.)
For-profit businesses and other organizations
After we commit to providing a Honor Guard, please understand that due to circumstances beyond our control (travel weather, cadet availability, sudden training conflict, etc.) we reserve the right to cancel a request. We strongly encourage groups to develop a contingency plan in the unlikely event we are forced to cancel.
Should CWU Air Force ROTC not be available the following other local organizations might be able to accommodate your request:
Central Washington University Army ROTC - ArmyROTC@cwu.edu, (509) 963-3518
American Legion Post 8 - (509) 925-9488
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 683 - (509) 968-4004
