Arnold Air Society (AAS) is an Air Force ROTC cadet service organization that focuses on supporting the cadet wing, service to the community, training in leadership, professional military education and Air Force traditions.

The Air Force ROTC Detachment 895's Arnold Air Society - Patrick Welch Squadron is active in all cadet wing events. In addition, the Patrick Welch Squadron is also very active in the local community and the Central Washington University (CWU) campus hosting many events such as the annual Military Ball, blood drives, food bank drives, fundraisers, and support for our troops overseas.

In fact, the AAS Patrick Welch Squadron was honored as the Area XI "Squadron of the Year" for 2007, 2008 and 2009! Our AAS members contribute over 2,500 hours of outstanding community service each year!

Flying Wildcats

 

The Flying Wildcats is a club available to all students who are a part of the Aerospace Studies program. The club focuses on showcasing the Aerospace program through interactive events (Potlucks, Base Visits, Movie nights, etc.) and serving the community (Veteran's Day Parade, Community Service, etc.). The club meets monthly and is always looking to improve life for the members of our program.

Honor Guard

 

The Detachment 895 Honor Guard is a group of highly trained, disciplined, and exceptional cadets who proudly present our nations colors. They not only serve the CWU campus, but the City of Ellensburg and Kittitas County. Cadets interested in joining the Honor Guard should reach out to the Honor Guard Commander, Cadet Lebovich. If you are an organization that would like the CWU Air Force Honor Guard to present at your event or assembly, please visit the Honor Guard Request Page and submit a request.  We will respond with whether we can fulfill the request or not in a timely matter.
