Highlights

Black Lives Matter—Learn More and Create Change

Africana and Black Studies’ faculty member, Salam Awad, met the needs of CWU students in 2020 by offering a Black Lives Matter (BLM) Global Issues course, which explored the intersectional solidarity of the BLM movement and its connections to the state of the world.

In 2021, faculty member Nastashia Lindsey, spoke to the issue through her BLM and US course, which utilized the narratives from Black artists, scholars, and activists to examine the BLM.

The Africana and Black Studies faculty continues to examine and address the historical and contemporary challenges within our local and global communities.
